Student Council / Pupil Voice and Participation

The school council is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve the school.

The school council meets monthly to discuss and sort out problems.

These may include school lunches, behaviour, or ideas for fundraising events, even how to help the school develop.

Members of the school council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning discos, writing newspaper articles, or meeting with catering staff.

Student council members bring ideas, requests, and feedback to the meetings and a democratic process is used to give students a voice and make decisions in creating a year-long calendar.

Students who participate in student councils, under the supervision of Mrs Dingle learn about the democratic process, civic responsibility, leadership, problem solving, and teamwork.
