We have a strong and comprehensive transition programme at Rhyl High School in order to ensure that pupils arrive to us in Year 7 feeling happy and secure.
During the academic year we organise a range of transition activities including,
- Opportunities to regularly visit us at Rhyl High School
- Attending our annual school production
- Visits to your school from our Pupil Leadership Team
- Experiencing life at Rhyl High School during our transition week in July
- Ahead of starting at Rhyl High School we will share more important information with you including a transition booklet.
Head of Year and Pastoral Support Officer
When you join Rhyl High School, you will meet your Head of Year and pastoral support officer. The Head of Year will track your behaviour, attendance and punctuality and also help celebrate your success. Your pastoral support officer is a non-teaching member of staff who is available to support you during the school day.
Form Tutor
You will be a member of a form group. There are 9 form groups in Year 7. You register with your form group each morning. Your form tutor will get to know you and will take an interest in your attendance, behaviour and progress in school.
